DataBri-X Public Engagement Event: A Successful Two-Day Session in Goslar, Germany
The DataBri-X project reached an exciting milestone this May with a two-day public engagement event held on 15–16 May 2025 in Goslar, Germany. The event brought together a dynamic group of students, mid-level managers, and researchers to learn about the project’s cutting-edge work in data management, interoperability, and FAIR principles.
Javad Chamanara Presents DataBri-X’s Vision and Technical Framework
A central highlight of the event was a presentation by Javad Chamanara, Technical Manager of DataBri-X, who shared in-depth insights into the project’s goals, infrastructure, and development processes.
Javad’s session focused on:
- The DataBri-X vision: Introducing the project’s overarching objectives to transform data spaces and enhance data interoperability across Europe.
- GitLab Repository Walkthrough: An exploration of the project’s open-source development environment, providing participants with a deeper understanding of the GitLab repository structure and collaboration efforts.
- Tool Development Roadmap: A comprehensive look at the tools under development within DataBri-X, aimed at supporting FAIR data management practices.
The session also featured screenshots of the tools in progress, offering participants a visual glimpse into the ongoing developments.
Interactive Discussions and Networking
The event provided a rich platform for interaction, fostering collaborative discussions between participants and project leads. There were extensive Q&A sessions where attendees asked questions about the technical challenges DataBri-X faces, as well as the broader implications of the project on the future of digital infrastructures in Europe.
Both students and mid-level managers showed particular interest in how FAIR data principles can be more widely implemented in the digital research space, and how DataBri-X is contributing to those efforts. The feedback and ideas exchanged during these sessions will undoubtedly help guide the future trajectory of the project.
